How do I remove the navigation system

Afternoon all

So it’s time for the discos old satnav stereo system to go. But I can get it out!. I took it to Halfords thinking they would have a removal key for it and they couldn’t do it either!.
It takes two flat thin keys at the bottom but what type, is there another way?.

Any ideas how to get it out

If it were me.....

Haha yeah it’s getting closer to hammer time every min. Hopefully someone will give me a better option than taking the whole plastic face of the instrument panel and braking it out

TBH, although I was joking, if you aren't keeping it or tryin to sell it on , there may be no harm in doing it a bit of damage just to get a clearer view of how it's held in.
In the past I have found that head units have been held in by metal lugs in the surrounding frame being bent in toward the unit.
Have you taken very thin bit of metal like a feeler gauge and gone all round the thing to see what is holding it in?
On the other hand there are forums dedicated to ICE and satnavs so if you get on one and state your problem with the make model and everything they may be able to advise.
Best of luck with it and hope you don't have to dismantle too much of the dash to get it out!

Thanks for the suggestion stanleysteamer...I may just get the hammers out we will see how much I can remove to get access. Regretting my decisions in, 3, 2, 1!

So turns out two jigsaw blades and one tinny electrical fire inside the CD player later. Job done.

so advice to anyone else is disconnect the battery as the fuse At the CD player didn’t even blow when it was smoking!!!

I had the same sat nav in my d2, it was crap!

"Take 50 lines, "whenever you work on a car's electrical system, always disconnect the batt first!"

Why? what was the issue that caused you to almost burn your car down to ashes.

Couldn't you have just ordered the correct tools

Where is your spirit of adventure!!!!!
Mind you I am wondering if he used the hacksaw blades to prise or shift something out of the way or if he was cutting blind.
Which i have to admit I wouldn't do.
In the case where it seemed necessary I'd dismantle a bit more of the dash.
Wonder if RAVE would have covered this?

Haha no just using the blades to free the set via the holes, turns out they fit perfectly. The issue was actually a Stereo removal tool that seemed to short something in the player which surprised me. Normally I would disconnect the matter but it was like ahhh it’s just the stereo.
