hover heating problem

hi hall was driving home to day when the car started to over heat and the blowers where blowing cold dos eny one got eny idear what corsed the car to overheat .do you think it mite be the thermastat .for got to say it is a 2.5 bmw engine

could have been a airlock if its cured its self now if its still like it could be the waterpump if its an original pump the plastic impellor brakes down and goes to pieces

i might bee the wheel inside the water pump there is loose . that happens sometimes on the bmw

Don't mean to be cheeky but have you checked the coolant level? If you have a leak and your coolant has gotten low you will loose hot air in the cabin and the engine will of course overheat.

hi thanks for the replys the waterpump is new only a month old will have a look at the car tomorow and run it with the coolant cap off see haw it gows i did notis a wet patch on the floor so i think i mite have a water leak from one of the pips on the side of the engine
