Hot start fix issues

Hi All just fitted a hot start kit to my 1999 DT. When you start the engine hot is revs at 1500 rpm for 30 seconds then settles back to idle. Just wanted to know from members if this is normal behaviour for this kit?

Which one did you fit? Mine revs to about 1K for 20 Secs, then down to its normal 750 I got mine from Taw Park 4x4 IIRC via eBay.

i believe this is normal after fitting the hot start fix(mine does the same) as its tricking the engine to think its cold.

Hi Dean,

I bought this one.

And being anal I went outside to check if what I'd originally said was correct and it wasn't. It idles at 850RPM for 22 seconds then reverts back to the 750 tick over it does as you'll see look very similar to your one.

hi looks the same with 30 second timer. Must be my engine running fast with the extra fuel!

Mine normally runs at 750 then about 800 on cold for about 20 30 secs.

I had to strip the wires needed when linking in with the crap connectors supplied as when I did the fix the first time round they didn't even make proper contact and I had all sorts of running problems with not changing gears etc.

SORTED. The kit I bought from ebay was faulty. It was putting a 9k resistor in circuit rather than the 2k item required. Have contacted the seller for his views on the matter.
