Got a weird thing - just had the second horn in a year die. The latest one was only fitted for a few weeks and has now packed up. Any ideas? What should I be checking?

Unusual.

Presume you've tried connecting the horn directly to 12v to check it really is fooked and not something else?

Assuming steering stalk switch is ok (contacts can wear) and wiring/fuse is sound, can only be a dodgy unit

Oh - and...

Have a similar problem on the Discovery, the horns are sited just behind the front grill and if you wash your Landy and spray a hose or pressure washer into the grill, the majority of the water ends up in the horn.

2 easy fixes depends on your preferences

1. Which I used - dont wash the Landy, looks better after a few weeks

2. Re-site the horns further back in the engine compartment

And :welcome2:from me as well.
To repair worn contacts in the stalk, remove the end and fit a copper washer to the contact bit. It must be the same OD as the spring. I used a banjo bolt washer when mine packed in!

Secondly, go to the scrappy and get a couple from anything as long as they work!! :D:D
