Hi, my engine is tired so planning on swapping a blue block Holden 202 in as I already have adapter's. I know that the longer engine does not leave room for factory radiator, does anyone know any options for a radiator without notching the crossmember. 1976 Series 3 109

Get a custom rad made that tucks into the gap behind the front panel with a remote header tank.

Had a look at pics of some 202's on line and it is bit of a lump, not al that powerful but plenty of low down torque.
Other suggestions. Would it fit if there was no fan on the engine but have an electric fan in front of rad?
Have a look around any breakers yards for a large van small truck rad that would be shorter but wider an fit the space above crossmember. This would mean chopping internals of front panel though.

I have heard lots of overheating issues with electric fans but that may be an option, don't particularly want to cut radiator support just in case of ever converting back to original.
Cheers for ideas

Electric fans are fine provided the system that controls them is in good order.
I fitted one to my Ninety some 25 years ago and the only problem was once after a long cold wet spell it did not work, turned out fan shaft had seized from lack of use. Easing oil sorted and still working today. An indicator lamp for when it runs is handy.
