if there is something just like a hissing but not a specific "air leaving a tube" kind of hissing it might be the sound of the in car temp. sensor's fan ... it's quite common for this to make noise. "The sensor is integrated into the inlet of an electric fan, which is installed behind a grille in the fascia outboard of the steering column. The fan runs continuously, while the ignition is on, to draw air through the grille and across the sensor."

Could be the A/C but more likely a vacuum leak.

Sierraferry... a mate recomended giving the sensor a blow out with an air line.
Oldskool...whats involved if its vacume leak?
