hi datatek , your comments I.e. change motor are timed correctly have woke me up , !!!!! I know when the replacement switch was being fitted then the female fixed part had to be moved over slightly so the v part that inserts to it so it would go ion and allow to be fitted and bolted up so my question is can you explain about marrying the 2 parts upp so it all fits back together as you dismantle it comes apart easy ???????????? I can always ring you to explain it a bit more if neccacery ??????????? cheers mate at the moment I think that as it is in hi ratio driving wise that because we had to move on of the parts manually then its possible that electronically its not recognising the connection !!!!!! all wiring is perfect and has not been touched ,, so how do we resync the 2 parts as per original when we stripped it down ???????????? cheers mate awating your answer ,mozz
Never had one apart Mozz, it's a question of checking out the switching with a meter.

Mozz, why not have a punt for £20 and get a replacement ECU. I still think it's that as you had the messages before the motor was replaced. The motor performs OK and you can hear the switching taking place. Take it you have gone into Low ratio and back since you got back? Could be the many many times you tried to get out of a stuck low ratio could have damaged the ECU?

or Can someone PLEASE lend him an ECU??? or he won't ever get this sorted.

hi lads , latest update !!!!! after some serious reading of rave I have followed the instructions on page 582-3-4 on ratio control section in the transfer box operation !!!!!! and whoopy doo ive succeeded in getting rid of the message "select neutral " and stopped the gear gate pad flashing by inserting 5 amp fuse to the seat fuse box and now it just shows transfer neutral so tomorrow im going to get new transfer box ecu and see what happens then ,, so at moment I suspect the ecu is ok !!!!! but presume that the " transfer neutral" will disappear after going on diagnostics later in week ??????? now then as it doesn't declare anywhere on rave my question is !!!!!! do I leave the 5amp fuse in ?????????????????????? cos when I take it out the thing reverts back to original problem of gate flashing and dash message "select neutral " its all a bit confusing to me as re-syncs I know about this stuff I don't :confused::confused: but many thanks for everyones imput and especially stopover in i.o.m. further advice is welcome ...kind regards MOZZ:crazy_driver::crazy_driver::crazy_driver:

If you put the fuse in position 11 you should have no drive if the transfer box motor/ECU is working as it will be in transfer box neutral:eek:
Diagnostics will not clear the message, it will go away on it's own when you get rid of the fault.

WELL summats not right then cos ive been out for a drive in it with the fuse in so not sure then keith ????????????????? it doesn't say anything about NOT being able to drive in rave ???????????? thanks matey .mozz

Mozz if you have put a fuse in position 11 there should be no drive to wheels. That is what you do to enable the car to be towed without knackering your gearbox up. Either the ECU is knackered or the low high drive motor is seized. I can assure you with transfer neutral message showing car should not move.

Yep putting fuse in is for towing and gearbox Neutral is displayed from memory

Wammers has covered it, but just to emphasise the point, you should not be able to drive it with a fuse in position 11, clearly stated in the owners manual.
We are back to the begining Mozz, seized motor or dead ECU.

I love my v8 beastie the nasty barstewards !!!!!!! they sorted it big style basically the transfer ecu wasn't talkin to the becm !!!!!!! so at least now we know the answer , so a big thank-you to the comedy group p.s. don't ask why jacks nickname is willie ? ho ho ho, anyway big joe connects to his diagnostics and sets about clearing and rectifying faults , first the air con. outcome replaced air dryer re-gassed job done ,nice one !!!!! then sorts the rest of the other bits and bobs ....end result all sorted my v8 beastie is very very happy now ,just to sort trims out on lpg and that's it , fingers crossed cos have had a stressfull 8 weeks now ,,,anyway anybody struggling with their motor then do youself a favour and book it in with joe ,,not only do you get a great welcome and great service ,you get great **** takin absolutely free ,, and best of all your wallet doesn't get too hammered ... so get up there but don't order the soup !!!!!!!!! great family firm and always a pleasure to deal with , a top very knowledgeable set up in the north west ..a massive thanks to my friend stopover in i.o.m . for his invaluable imput cheers matey ..ok sorry for dragin on a bit but thought you would want to know , thanks to everyone who gave imput and to joe and his crew once again kind regards MOZZ

LATEST ADDITTION !!!!!! as a few of you have quoted the book i.e. when 5 amp fuse is in and transfer neutral is on dash YOU CANT MOVE IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE !!!!!!!! well I have 3 witnesses that seen it that you can ,as I told you previously !!!!!! the exception to the rule is if like mine that the transfer although changes from hi to low but doesn't complete the cycle ?? then even though it shows on dash etc if it hasn't told the becm then you CAN DRIVE IT !!!!!!! but beware off this for future reference ..regards mozz;);)
