Hello,

I am about to purchase a 03 plate range rover. The guy says its an SE model but I am not sure as I dont see any of the same model recently. It has a couple of defects that I know of..... but would like some clarification on the matters if you people can help. Its brakes are much more fierce than I am use to on ml. they are not very smooth if you know what I mean. I wondered if this was normal or what. Also there is a knocking noise going over bumps in the road that sound like it is comming from near side front. He says its a ball joint but its not long MOT'd so I am a bit weary. I realise it could be anything however I was wondering if there is a common fault in that area. Lastly I hear a lot about front diff upgrades but dont know what this involves. can anyone help

regards

When I worked for Land Rover I saw absolutely loads of these coming in with sheared off diff to prop splines !

It should have been done on a recall if its 2001- 2005/6 model. :)

As far as the knocking, if he sorts it before you buy I don't see the problem.
