Name is Rabet and I live in the jungle of Borneo, (used to belong to the landrovernet .com but as we all know its gone) so have now joined youselves,
Out here, spares are non existant so either you repair or you do not drive it. There are many things I do not know and I am always seaking the advice of thoes who know much more than I.
Retired engineer, have a 88 pick up 1972, series 2b FC 2.25 petrol and 110 pick up all either ex police or ex army, and yes they do not look after them, oh and they all cost a bomb, even if they are scrap.
Intention is to rebuild the FC and use it as general transport.

So many more questions to come (when I am able to get round to it)

Welcome. Is the FC a runner? Getting very rare in the UK. Most are lying in back yards rotting away. A rare classic despite their weaknesses.

Hi John S.
It is an ex army, it was a runner, JUST, but I have the original engine (3 brg petrol) gearbox, wheels and ENV axles plus all the front cab. What I do not have is the rear body, but I plan to make one to look the same and put in a 2.5 petrol for extra power. The reason is, out here changing the engine is so difficult but to swap a 2.25 for a 2.5 would be easy.
That is when Im get round to it. I bought it becauseI used to have a 2a FC in the uk and there are only 3 in malaysia.
