Budget is 5k
I do very light off roading, But would like to do more!
Purpose is family car/van for my shooting and mountain bikes
And 5 seats required!

What's the big differences between the TD4 and 5, mpg and reliability??

Td4 is a large estate car with 4wd.
Td5 is a large 4x4 with serious offroad ability.

td4 gets better mileage been smaller and lighter.
TD5 probably holds the edge on reliability

Welcome and good luck making your choice. I'd pick the Discovery unless you live near narrow streets and you have to park in small parking spaces.
