My name is Jason.
I've recently bought my first Land Rover. A 1998 Range Rover P38 4.6 with sequential LPG.
It's in lovely cosmetic condition but it has trouble starting from cold and I suspect it's running rich on petrol.
Wish me luck

Hi Jason, anymore pics? ;)

It shouldnt be much causing cold start issue, more than likely low cost maintenance. Do you have diagnostics?
Start a thread in the RR section titled ‘cold start’ or something.
I’m sure Henry will be along to help soon as he sees that beaut

Thanks gents for the info you've offered so far. The only pics I have are attached.
Symptoms:
Cold starting- turns over for some time before firing. Feels like only running on a few cylinders to begin with. I have to gradually feather the throttle until all cylinders fire. Too much throttle and it backfires and dies. Once up and running it's fine. Average mpg on the computer is 17.9.
It smells like it may be running rich on petrol.

I'd get diagnostics on her, a bad lambda or 2 will cause an over rich running condition.

It'll run closed loop and just pour fuel in

Is that your LPG filler point at the back there exposed to the elements?
If so, I wonder if you've been pushing dirt/rubbish into the LPG tank at every fill-up.
But that's just an observation.
As the chap's say, get it on some diagnostic kit ASAP. Look for someone local to you with a Nanocom licensed for the GEMS system.
