Hi I am mike been thinking about buying a landy for a bit need some advice regarding carrying my kids in the side facing seats I a disco 2 they are over the height limit so don't need booster seats is it legal

Hi Mike

Not sure what you mean, as it appears a bit garbled, if as I assume you are referring to a Disco 2 then it has forward facing seats in the boot.

My apologies I was looking at a vehicle from Gumtree said disco 2 rear folding seats I assumed they were similar to defender as in sideways not forward so would be legal for my boys ?

After looking at posts here it appears my mistake was a misleading advertisement for a disco 1 now after looking at posts here I see disco 2 different to 1 in a lot of ways including rear seats apologies for sounding stupid still learning mike

Not sure if it's legal or not but their isn't much leg room in the Disco 2, best try it before you comit.

I think you may mean the two side-facing 'dickie' seats in the Disco 1 7-seat variant ... these should have their own 3-point seat belts, but having said that, the human body is very fragile to bending the neck sideways, the muscles are to keep the head steady during fore and aft movement .... how old are your children ?

8 years old tall for there age when you say not much leg room how bad are we talking

Take the kids out for the day, go and see a few vehicles ... you get to know what to look for they get to have 'fun' ...

Sounds like a good idea just don't want the standard people carrier always been a defender fan but financial constraints mean going cheaper
