Not sure if this is a joke or anything. It depends.
If you're uphill in snow/sloshy mud etc and ur wills will spin, 4L,
normal 50 mph snow/gravel etc then normal 4h

oh dear...
before we get any more crap
its quite simple
more engine revs = more torque(turning force)= more wheel spin
on slippery surfaces use highest gear that the engine will pull at minimum smooth revs. revs.
on a flat smooth road on ice , stick it in low 1, diff locked , rev bollocks off and drop the clutch and all the wheels will spin.........stick it in h2 at idle and itll pull away smoothly.

You forgot the important bit. Go practice your new found knowledge in a field or Asda car park. Just dont for gods sake try it on the road.
Not that I'm old or anything But after 3 days of snow I'm already sick of dodging vehicles whos drivers cant steer in a straight line, and that includes 4 x 4s
I could do better in my Focus than some of these idiots
Still I had fun in the work car park today, only my Defender in one bit of it and the ploughs had left loads of obstacles for it to climb over
Not that I'm old or anything

I too used to like having fun in the snow, but even tho`. I`m disco equiped, its getting boring I`m afraid.
your dead right about being a moving target for those who drive in snow & ice with a look of sheer fear upon there faces while leaning slightly sideways the other direction to there jelly mould shaped cars slip sliding away out of control.
I live in a "retired" community in which it seems those who hate difficault driving conditions venture out to shop in town centre at 20 mph come what may,
deep snow or dry sunny days
Its almost as if they will the car to keep on there very own side of the road,
but being agaust at the thought of there car disobaying very strict orders to maintain speed at all cost, the car seems to want to disobay its master and actually slide out of control - shock horror eh...LOL....
No, I dont want my much loved but very old disco being the subject of an Insurance assesors guestimate of actual value thankyou after major topwit (retired) has allowed his motorbillity sponsered ford/vauxhall/****roen shiney new jelly mold to attack my ol` disco....
So, I`ll keep out of everyones way unless Its really needed to grab some fun factored snowy driving to tescos car park, and hide it in the luxury of the disabled bays for half an hour
