Hi,

I'm looking for a rangie, probably about 10 years old, hopefully with the LPG conversion.

Looking for as much spec as possible and the best one I can find for the cash.

Are there any variants to avoid? do any have known problems?

some basic pointers for things to have on a check list would be welcome as I'm not familiar with these machines but do have good mechanical knowledge.

Any help is appreciated, I'm also looking at Discovery's aswell.

the machine will be the main family ride, my wife will use it to commute the 2 mile journey to work and back, I have my own wagon but of course want to find a decent rangie that I feel good with.

i'll check back later.

regards

Hi depends on your budget you can get Classic Range Rovers with EW/CL/AC/Alloys/Alarm etc etc for around 1000 a bit more can get you a nice 4.O DSE with it's toys like air suspension to play with although it breaks really easy. A Discovery isn't going to give you much more other than 7 seats and a little more head room in the back. The Early EFi's tend to have Cylinder head problems (or it's just mine)

Range Rovers being alloy bodies don't rust although they do and will oxidize if there's a paint chip but it's no biggie. I found the biggest problems was with the electric seats of Vogues the switches seems to break.
