I'd just like to say a quick hello to you all.

My names Andy, I'm from Rustington, Sussex. Just next to the beach and not too far from Brighton.

I've been reading post on here for a while and although there are other forums I always seem to find my self back here.

I'm a biker by blood but have always wanted a Land Rover.
A few months back I bit the bullet and went and got myself a nice looking 2000 plate Disco 2.

I'm a computer technician by trade, if there are any questions in relation to computers please feel free to message me, (not advertising here, just sharing knowledge)

Forum wise, read loads all the time but have never actually signed up to any and contributed, so please be gentle with me.

Let me know if there's anything I've missed.

Thank you and hello, TIWM i saw that coming from a mile off :D.

The search has been great so far but I have struck one problem with it!

Please don't slate me for signing up just because I have a problem now, I truly have been reading for a while. Its to do with the D2 tailgate door lock. It's not the usual replace the lock either, and this is where the search problem occurs.

Freelander, that reminds me. I read a post a while back in regards to a guy who took a shortcut with a mate and got stuck, he signed up "as a last resort" to call for help. It was a through a farmers field without permission.

After many abusive comments and a little affection he finally just disappeared, I can confirm that I too was so hoping for some pictures, the thread took a turn and one forum poster quite rightly pointed out that this instance could be bait to bring some tricked out LR's to a dark field in the middle of the night.

I would link but being new to all forums I don't even know the basics any advice would be warmly welcomed.

But i found the smileys:)

wd40 give it a good spray up in handle take out lr badge and spray in ther as well. Mine jammed a while ago wd40 and standing ther like a pillock opening and shutting door did the job.

Ah you see this isn't the problem but this is the answer the search keeps bringing up.

It wouldn't lift on the unlock from the fob, searched it, cam to the conclusion of replacing it.

Stupidly got a used part for all but a £20 less than new. Whilst fitting it I decided to do methodically, plugged it in and tested it with the fob. All Good!

Then fitted it tried again tail gate open... all good, jobs a gooden,

Shut tailgate never to be opened again. this is my problem.

WD40 every where hand are sore cannot get it to unlock from the fob the outside or waggling everything on the inside.
