Hi guys, I'm Andy. Anyone got a 4.7:1 ratio diff going spare?

Hi guys, I'm Andy. My first post! I'm trying to put back together a Series 3 thats pretending to be a Series 2 ....... its a long story one which I'm hoping DVLA will put right. In the meantime anyone not a million miles from Chesterfield Derbyshire got a half decent Land Rover Series 3 - Rover 10 spline (rear axle) 4.7:1 ratio diff available at a reasonable price??? Andy

Thanks Ralph. This is my first Series Landie. She's a swb 2.2 petrol. I've had to put the engine back in. Big problem is her identity clearly a Series 3, but with Series 2 V5. Should have done a little more research and thought harder about my purchase. Still its with DVLA now so hopefully it will all end well. Andy

Unfortunately you're not alone there, lot's of 3's masquerade as 2a's to qualify for tax free status but some mot stations have started to pick up on it. Dashboard is the easiest give away.
