Hi Guys, didnt expect any replies so soon...

Ok, I have never owned a diesel let alone a defender but i have my mind set and will buy a 110 CSW. i find my self attracted more to the 200tdi compared to the 300's and td5's.

I would prefer to buy one with its original paint work and with no welding done on the chasis..want to know if it is no point in going for an older one and just buy a newer one maybe 10yrs old or so...

my budget is between £5-7k, would i be wasting my money in this price range or the ones i find in this price range should be ok..

Welcome, you should be able to buy a decent 110 for that money, if not you could buy my 90, its the same thing just a little shorter, paint has only been done over once, got all original bodywork but every panel has ay least 20 dents in it, chassis has never been welded, its got a few holes in it to prove it. but its not a CSW tho. you could have it within your budget

Cheers 'Heavy Breather'... but I got two kids and the Mrs to put in, did consider the 90 at first but just not practical enough for me. Need the boot space for buggys etc. I'm hoping I can use it as an everyday car.

£5-£7k for a 110 SW? You will be lucky to get a decent TD5 for that money, but a clean 300tdi should be within your reach. That's if you buy private.
