Hi from Italy

Hello, I'm YYC4wheel. I'm originally from Canada but live in Milan, Italy right now. New to LR but always loved the look of the Defender. About a year and half ago I went to Moab, Utah and rented a Jeep and went off roading. It's a blast if you haven't been there. Ever since then I wanted to buy an off roading vehicle.
I'm on a particular hunt right now for a Defender 110 to bring back to Canada with me. Eventually I plan on being back in Canada and I want to take advantage of importing a 15 year or older Defender. So that means I'm looking at a 2001 or older model. I'll be spending some time looking around trying to figure out what I need to keep an eye on as I look at 2000 and 2001 models. Any advice is also welcomed.

Welcome, why not look for an ex military 110, they are a little basic but that gives you a project to get into, they are well maintained and looked after. Avoid any thing that has been on a farm in the uk unless it has a galvanised chassis.

Thanks for the tip. I live in a flat so no place to work on it, so it has to be in decent shape here or I have to hire someone to do some work on it. I'm handy working on cars/trucks but I have none of my gear here with me! Any ideas what it costs in the UK to galvanize a chassis? Just curious.
