Yeah i want to get the forum sorted as id like to have a look at some landys to help me pick what i want. And once ive got one id like to do some group days and meets etc :)

Sadly don’t have a landy at the moment, over the last 10 years I have had contract cars but I am thinking of getting something sorted next year :) I ain’t far away from you, in a little pokey village a few miles to the east of you.

I escaped from Hull about 45 years ago, I wouldn't really want to go back either if I was being honest :) and anyone that has a ham licence must be a bit suspicious :D

Hmm just about if it wasn't for a few trees, can see the river in the distance :)

yeah i will i think it will be a little bit till I'm up and running but i have been having a look about and i think there is some little bits not miles away :)

haha a few miles east, jeez that is the back of beyond out that way towards Withernsea. Yeah i will check the videos out now :)

I think I'm kinda lucky its not actually Hull, just outside :) I don't think it deserves all the bad press there are other place that are just as bad and some that are worse :D

Oh bugger I have been rumbled :D well not quite in costa del withernburg, I am at the arse end of Ottringham :)

True it’s not all of Hull just certain parts like any big city’s really they all have bad bits, even around here sometimes if it can’t be nicked, wreck it!

Ahh cool I used to work at salt end but have very rarely been any further east.

Went to look at a 300 tdi pickup today. It's done 160k full service history and engine seems to be sound. Need a repair to the back axel were the stay bar mount has rusted away and two small chassis patches at the back. The issue I'm worried about is the front transfer box shaft has a lot of play in the bearing and he said that's what the whiting noise is, he has a new bearing to change its not fitted. And 4th gear is a bit rough he has said?

I know that's pretty vague but any idea if it's a simple fix or if I should run away? I am interested as its a great price and in fairly good nick overall. Bulkhead looks really good.

Any help much appreciated :)

Shes a 81 series 3 diesel ,I got it about a year ago, and its been with chris missin down dunswell lane ( if you don't know him hes awesome and got a few for sale too). Only got her on the road 2 days ago .loads of fun to drive , never been green laning tho , im just looking to see if theres any nearby ?. Not joined any clubs yet either. Im not really up on how much they cost , is 1800 reasonable with all that to do? How much will repairs cost?

Ahh that's sounds cool :) I will have to have a look at that place then, is it like a car dealership or just at a house?

I think there's limited lanes close but there seems to be a few up on the moors.

I'm going to ring round a bit to get some ideas of the cost tomorrow :)
 
Hes just an enthusiast but repairs and sells , excellent chap and very reasonable. And yes your right about salt end.
 
Well i knew it wouldnt take long. Just put a deposit down on a 300tdi pickup. Its on the cheap end of the scale but looks half decent. Exitement may have got the better of me but i cant wait to get home and pick it up now.

Anyway got a plan for getting it home. Get the axel mount sorted got through it with a fine tooth comb and hopefully get it ready for an MOT that is will hopefully pass :)
