Hello, good to be here, I have a 1992 200tdi Defender 110 hard top, 159000 miles, I have owned it for 5 years and have been impressed with the sweet and reliable engine and gearbox. Since owning it I have spent approximately 3 weeks underneath it cutting out rot from the chassis and welding in new sections. (I am a blacksmith/welder by trade) I've put about 1/2 a wheelbarrow-full of rust in the scrap bin. Still to do is the rot at the top of the bulkhead corners and under the windscreen. I'm sure this will be no surprise to fellow owners of an old defender. I have fitted some black steel modulars with general grabber AT2's which improve the handling no end. The Landy works for a living in our woodland where she hauls tools equipment to otherwise inaccessible places and also loads of firewood in a sankey trailer. In the past I have owned a series 2a Safari (in 1984) and more recently a 300tdi pickup which had to either go or have a rebuild on a new chassis (so it went) Cheers Hammer

Nice. You know your way round landys. Good luck with the welding. I'm getting mine done just now. Logging my favourite landy activity. Always great to haul out a full load of logs. Good luck.
