Hi LandyZone users. Needed a big family unit, so I bought my first LandRover last week! I was lucky enough to have a once over on it by a relative with plenty of LandRover experience, and my dad from the motor trade, and I'm really happy with it!
TD5 auto Landmark Discovery 2 Brittish Green '53 plate

There's 130,000 on the clock and lots of paperwork (my first task since getting it home is to organise all that into a file)
The interior is in great Nick, all the leather is strong clean and well kept
And outside is great! A few minor blemishes, but have just given it a full valet and wax. The alloys and tyres are brilliant (first time I've ever had FIVE alloy wheels!?)
Rust has started across the back axel and so that is my first point of service in the next few weeks. I also have the issue with the electric sunroof's not working, so have that to do. Everything else seems spot on so far...! I've found loads of useful information on here so far about those two things! thanks! And I'm sure I will be sticking around as there will be more that pop up that I can maybe share or learn about.
The plan is to run this for family days out, holidays and any general trips outside our postcode really, Using our older (smaller car) for school runs/shopping trips and probably work and such

Hi,

Nice looking D2,

Make sure you have the EKA code in all that paperwork, and that you have 2 keyfobs which work.

Also check the lock actually works in the drivers door, they tend to seize from lack of use.

Finally, find someone local who has access to diagnostics that work on a D2, nanocom / hawkeye / lynx, as you are more then likely going to need it at some point.

Cheers

Cheers!
And ahh okay thanks; I will have to get looking for this EKA code then, I haven't spotted one today...
fingers crossed my dad could have a contact for diagnostics, I will get his head scratching on that one

Two key fobs yup, but one key is snapped; and the ignition barrel has been swapped at some point leaving me a seperate ignition key (for now.. Have spoken with key guys about options)

Key blades are cheap and easy to replace, have a look on youtube there are a few videos on how to do it.
As long as the electronics are good and work, as that is the expensive part.

Diagnostics, Have to be able to read a Disco TD5, as not all diagnostics can do this even though they have the OBD II plug. The cheaper diagnostics can throw out spurious results, which is why people tend to use Nanocom / hawkeye / Lynx for home use.

Cheers

Oh, and EKA code can be got from a LR dealer if you have proof of ownership ( should be free ) , Or it can be read using a nanocom.

Cheers
