Hi, I'm going to have a look at a 1984 defender 90 2.5 diesel on Tuesday. Any tips.
I live in Winsford, Cheshire. I have been into classic minis until now. I have 1976 mini with a supercharged engine and a clubby currently undergoing restoration. I do all my own Mechanics, welding and spraying.

For a start, identify the vehicle correctly. That will be a 1984 Land Rover Ninety.

And second, search on the forum for the many buyer's guides and old threads on exactly that subject!

Take someone with you with eggsperience of tratters ter look at it

welcome if your in to classic mini`s then a bit of welding on a tratter chassis should be a walk in the park.

Hi and welcome!

Lots of good advice on here and on the internet with some searching.

Main advice is thoroughly check chassis and bulkhead for rust. These are both expensive to replace and rust for a past time. Also check the chassis number and do an HPI check to make sure it’s not stolen. Buy on condition not age.

If/when you do get one, get some decent security and post us some pics on here!

Bulkhead and chassis, everything else ain't too bad to do, but armed with a welder chassis shouldn't be too much of an issue, bulkhead can be a nightmare
