Hi all,
I've joined with the intention of learning a lot about working on and restoring a Land Rover. This is the first time I've really been exposed to one so my current knowledge is lacking! Just recently we had a loss in the family and one of the things left behind was what was hopefully going to be a restoration project of a Series 3 Land Rover (a genuine 38k miles and 1 owner from new). Last night for the first time I spent the best part of 4 hours with the father-in-law trying to get the engine running. Finally after endless cranks with the hand starter, a fair bit of WD40 and some fresh fuel, she fired up!
I'll create another thread with pictures once I've given it a wash, released the stuck brakes and emptied what's inside. I know there is quite a bit of welding to be done to the chassis, some electrics that need sorting and a very good tidy up of the exterior. More to follow soon.
Cheers
Will
