Actually, new to LandRovers.

Lucky enough to have recently taken early retirement, and am looking to fulfil lifelong ambition of giving a good home to a Landy. Thought I had better read up as much as I could and ask all of the daft questions before I take the plunge though.

My heart says a series 2a or 3, but my head says a defender 90 200/300 tdi.

Not going to do much mileage or any serious off roading. Will be used mainly to transport me backwards and forwards to my allotment, carrying bags of soil, plants and mucky tools.

Decent series are commanding good money, nice though with a rag top :D
& im sure there's a 200 defender in the for sale section, plus there is an increase in thefts
of defenders so make sure you get some decent visual security what ever you get;)

Defender 90 200tdi you should go for, sadly I’m letting mine go on eBay at the moment but only due to travelling in South East Asia, unfortunately I can’t take it there! That’s not a cheap plug by the way for my sale but I genuinely recommend this type and have had many years experience with them.

200tdi would be sensible
