Hi all,
Have always loved landy's after passing my test in one many many years ago in Germany, then driving many different variants over the years during my 22years military service. But have never owned on till now!!!
Had been on the look out for ages for the right one, wanted a series 2 or 2a but didn't have that sort of money spare. Then out of the blue two months ago the father in law whilst visiting him in Somerset said "do you want a land rover" wI said laughing. You know I want one..... Thinking what's the catch?
Well he's says I ve bought a Massey ferguson 35 tractor from a farmer and he's thrown in a series 3 Swb with it as part of the deal. So either you have it or its going on EBay.
So with out even seeing it, I said "yes"
So the next day I got to see, now named by the wife (daisy) sat in a barn covered in half of Somerset's best mud, green moss and owl pooh. She started and had an Mot till October.
The only problems were listed as many! Great I thought! But the project was born. A week later I hired a car transporter and drove from essex to Somerset picked up daisy and brought her home (plus all the mud algae and owl pooh)

Jobs done so far:

Jet washed inside outside under and over!!
Paintwork rubbed back and polished to get rid off the ingrained moss algae and owl pooh!

Exhaust manifold
Full exhaust system
Every oil changed and coolant changed
Plugs and HT leads.
Lots of new bulbs all round
Horn
Set of second hand wheels with Avon master tyres (old ones were 600 tractor tyres) good for ploughed fields
Mudflats
Windscreen wipers
Rubber gaiters on hand brake and levers.
Lots of other minor bits and pieces with the aim to keep her road worthy for the dreaded mot.

Been loitering around this web site reading and researching and thought I would finally get my butt in gear and sign up.

So hello world, I am a landy virgin please be gentle with my stupid questions!!

Hopefully added a photo this time! First view of the landy

That's come up really well with just a polish. It looks almost like you've repainted it.

Welcome anyway.
