Hi all,

Just joined this forum after creeping for a long time haha.

I have a defender 90 td5, she is 1999 and it ex-ESB, which is basically like the English BT.

So it was green , then yellow for them and then sprayed green again, some of the yellow is chipping through.

I don't drive it a lot just the weekends so I am always doing little jobs to it, I just insulated the back of it and ply-lined it , I need to sort a leak somewhere in front of the bulkhead and then I can fit carpet I bought for the back.

It has zu rims on it, there currently 245/70 but I would hope to go to 285 if I could to fill the arch more.

thanks

Hi Cormac, looks like a nice motor, very rare to see an ex ESB in a 90 there seems to be plenty of 110's knocking around on done deal!! Best of luck with it!

Thanks Jasper, i dont drive it a whole pile just use it to pull the odd trailer, yeah most esb ones where 110's, even the next auction coming up is full of 110's. Was trying to sort leaks today and ordered all the kit to service it in conlans in rathangan.

Very good only passed their showroom yesterday lovely sparkling 90 in the showroom!! Would love to pick up a 90 for everyday use as my series 3 is not exactly user friendly for everyday use etc... But very hard to find a decent one! Lovely 08 hi-cap for sale in monasterevin motors, where is the next esb auction?

yeah that grey 90 is there a while, just shy of 40k I think. the 130 is in monasterevin a while but its sold the first week it went in. it made around 17500 and is off to cork! I would have love it. they also have a black 14 90 for 35000 I think. Next ESB auction is sat the 21st in claremorris auction centre,

Thanks for that, I was thinking the hi cap was gone there was no price on it anywhere, I walked around it last Saturday and thought it was mint! Your landy looks very good I suppose the bonus about ex esb fleet is that I'm sure it was well serviced etc... And in your case a bonus that the yellow was sprayed over!!

yeah I seen loads of defender newer than mine rotten in the chassis and the floor, only the doors in mine are a bit rusty the rest is dead solid. So its a real bonus! Under all the carpets the original green color is there , if I keep it I will strip it down to re-spray the outside as the yellow coming through is a pain. the only thing that lets it down. haha. What part of this little island are you in?

That sounds good, they are bit of a labour of love but I enjoy doing the small jobs on them, mines 1974 so no need for any diagnostics on that one just a manual and a bucket of spanners! I'm in Laois what bout urself?
