Just got my Landy back after years apart and was so happy until I drove it home and the heater didn't work and the headlights stopped working halfway, brought back the fun memories of Landy ownership. But my baby will soon be back on top form and making me smile again. Its a 1997 Defender 90 300tdi. have a great day everyone,
Barney

Cheers guys, gonna have a look at her this weekend hopefully, so may well be posting the usual stoopid questions next week🤪

Shed no, maybe a dilapidated outbuilding though so could be worse 🤣. The great thing is I rebuilt her onto a new galvanised chassis 6yrs ago, so structurally she's sound at least, but she's not been touched for 6yrs now by the last owner, so she's got lots of little stuff to sort through. Then a respray and she'll be beautiful once more..

Welcome :) .

As you already know it it shouldn’t be to much of a painful path;).

Looks fine as is on top.

prefer the RHD, its a bit of a pain in France but not too bad. And yeah apart from the issues mentioned above and the usual none of the doors shutting properly and leaks all over the place she's alright..

Hey Stan, we're in the Gers, a couple of hours southwest of Toulouse. Only an hour to the Pyrenees and all the off-roading you could wish for..
So 3 1/2 hours from us then, as we are in the Montagne Noire about 45 mins north of Carcassonne.
Good on yer!:):):)
You there all year round?;)

Yeah mate, been here full time for 10yrs now and loving it.. also the CT here is much less strict than the UK MOT, my baby passed its CT 3days ago with leaks everywhere, dodgy headlights and it didn't even have a rear windscreen 🤣

According to a mate who lives near Poitiers it seems to depend on how much of a bell end the testers is. Which is kind of like it is over here. My tester and I do the car together and last time he tested the wife's car the ARB links were loose. I said "Is that a fail?" he said "No, it's an advisory, but I won't put it on the ticket as I've just "advised you"!!" The guy in the office doing the paperwork wanted to know if it had passed before it have even been on the rollers, but he still shouted through "Yep it's passed" I fell about laughing. The brakes were OK as he knew they would be cos we have known each other for years.
So, very happy for you! Hope he doesn't retire soon! 🤣 🤣

Hey guys, started redoing the old paintwork and the front ends looking much better now. shame there's so much more of the bloody Landy to do  5 spray cans down already, 9 including the primer and I've not even done the bonnet yet😂
