heya name Louis, looking at getting a freelander (runs and hides) td4 in the next few months.

would love a discovery but the wife only likes the d3/d4 and i dont have the budget for that.

would like to make it some sort of greenlaneing vehicle , lift kit, tyres, winch ect.
eventually i will get a discovery.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I have owned a freelander td4 in the past and they are great machines. Is your wife completely against a disco 2? I now have a d2 and, to be honest, it's a much better greenlaner than the freelander. You also have the option of 7 seats and the mpg isn't that much different.

shes not completly against a d2, i just cant find a decent one around me for the money i have :/ there every way too over priced or 'havnt had mot for years and used on a farm'

and iv recently moved to carmarthenshire and left everything up in the north west of england. so no full tool kit and no welder

I spent about 2 months looking for a good D2. They are out there...you just need to land on one with minimal rust to the rear....to be honest, by the time you have modded the freelander you could have bought a decent disco

thats a very good point, i supose a standard d2 with tyres will trump a modded freelander anydays! plus i can sell it to the wife with all the space for horse things! need to keep looking i suppose
