hesitation on TD4

This slight problem is intermittant, after a while when setting off from a standstill, press the gas pedal to go and i get a momentary drop in power. Then the power comes in and it takes off as normal. The vehicle is a 56 plate with 16k miles and is fully serviced. My dealer could not find anything, but they didn't identify that it required a gearbox until they had it for a day. Any ideas on the slight power loss?

Standard problem with these vehicles, mine did it too (06 Adventurer). Do a general search on this forum and Google and the delights of Roverron, Synergy modules and MAF sensors will be revealed...

Thanks for the advice on the maf sensor.

There's lots of simple mods described on the forum to enable the TD4 to breathe and perform more efficiently. They do require a 'hands on' approach to TD4 ownership as dealers rarely go beyond the set service schedule and component changing as a method of diagnosis.
