here we go again spring is in the air!

Ok so has anyone had there sunroof out of the car ? mine goes back ok , but wont tilt or actually only tilts on one side , so in my usual large hammer and big screwdriver mending capacity i have manage to butcher the edging seal and jammed it between the glass an the roof , i am guessing i need the tilt bit examined and a new seal , thus i am betting the whole cabudle really needs to be taken out the roof and mended . easy diy or off to a man that can ? thanks for any help .

The tilt mechanism has broken, these are only made of plastic and ar common failures. Good news is, you can buy replacement parts and it's a DIY fix. Morning John , cheers for the link etc , had to smile nearly ! drivers door locked me out yesterday , no release from either handle internal or external , bit of poking with a fishing rod stand released the mechanism and seems i just need to get a new internal door release cable as kinked and jammed , oh the joys .

Must have been a bit of a worry, the drivers side door latch mechanism was replaced with new sometime last year so that should be fine, I don't think that the cable is difficult to fit and is an easily available part. Other than that, how's things, still pleased with the buy? My driveway looks empty now and the 1.4 Golf doesnt really float my boat but it will have to do for now

everything seems ok , handbrake is a bit weird when used as sort of springs off when released and tc abs light stays on longer than usual , if not used is ok ,drives well , bit of vibe from compresser but nothing major , passenger front door lock not working off fob , no heated seats , front wheels kick a little over bumps , lol i was not expecting miracles , but no am happy and have owned one long enough to know its an on going saga etc , if i wanted six months of maintenance free driving i would by a golf !!! Just need to sort out the sun roof bit as the rubber wont go back on properly and need to get the rise leg sorted , but no ispart of the family now and will give it a while to settle in before i get it exorcised and some holy water thrown at it .

Vibe from compressor may need the rubbers replacing in the bolts, sunroof, you'll only need nearside rail, passenger door lock gone again? I would advise buy new as the 2nd hand units don't seem to last long in that case, heated seats never used them but seem to be an issue with wires breaking over time/age, if the front wheels are kicking, get the end float checked on the hubs, may need the shims adjusting as all other steering components, suspension are less than 12 months old, don't want to read about someone ripping you off saying you need new ball joints etc

absolutely not ...... car is fine , was not dear for what it is , seems my dad knows the garage owner where alot of your work was done etc , he says is a good car and was a good price , Jut feel i am not participating to my full potential .. if i dont winge on here at least 5 times a week about something . Christ if i sad i bought a new p38 and no one heard from me for over a week they would call the police !!!
