Having major problems trying find new replacement thermostat housing fixings (three bolts) for a 2.25 n/a 5mb out of a series 3 any help even a part number would help.

what part are you after, correct me if im wrong, you are looking for a thermo housing secured by 3 bolts or studs for a series 3 engine, petrol or diesel, i have 1 spare for a 2286 diesel engine, and funny enough i took the heater valve off it today, where do you live,

It was the bolts i was after got them today found out they are M6 bolts now just have the joy of removing the one that has snapped off in the head.

The bolts are metric due to the engine being out of a late series 3 when they started putting 5 bearings on the main crank opposed to three belive they done this post 1980 hence metric

I don't think the change to metric exactly coincides with the change to 5 bearing (that would be too simple), also the blocks and heads didn't change at the same point (and may have been swapped later anyway.
