Hello and welcome to the forum!
Have you been to the part of the forum called "Introduce yourself", you could try that.
Doubtless a D3 eggspurt will come on soon and help, meanwhile all I can suggest is that you, or your "pain" disconnect the battery and then give it a while to settle down, then reconnect it again, tightly. By the "bloody thing" did you mean the new stereo or the whole vehicle?
You will find that members on here respond very well to accurate information, politeness, banter and not calling LR products "jeeps"!:):):)

You'd be surprised how many problems are down to either a flat battery or one whose connections are not tight enough.
Best of luck
Stan

Thanks for replying Stan... it’s my d3 that won’t start!! Seem to have an immobiliser light I’ve never had before!! Have tried disconnecting battery with unfortunately no luck!!
I can lock and unlock the the vehicle put the key in the ignition all the lights come on but won’t turn over!!

Are you sure the batteryis not flat? 1/2 an hour with ign on and/or interior lights on is enough to flatten it.
These cars like all modern cars are power hungry.

If it is the battery tell the pain led interior bulbs are a very smart move, cheap on ebay etc

Google battery hard reset.
Basically remove both battery leads form the battery, and hold the leads/terminals together for a few seconds then reconnect them to the battery and try starting it again.
If no go you will have to retrace your steps, ie put back the old stereo to see if it is something he has done.

How are you testing the battery?
What stereo did he fit?

@gstuart is more up on the elec side of the D3.

Hi

plus 1 what others have said

may i ask please , was the battery disconnected when the work was carried out , also have all the fuses been checked under the bonnet and behind the passenger side glove box

as u have the base model I assume u haven’t got the satnav screen in the middle

plus as mentioned I assume the light ur referring to is red on the left hand side of the instrument panel and flashing, should go out when u insert the key and turn the ign on , if it doesn’t youve shorted something out , so hopefully the battery was disconnected before hand

hope that helps a little

ps, plse make sure the belts and oil pump cover have been replaced at some stage in the past
