Help

In leamington spa, discovery 300 tdi starting making a rattling noise, and a but of a chugging sound so I've pulled over.
It has oil etc but I can see fresh oil leaking out of the rocker cover gasket.
What should I do??

Do you have any form of breakdown cover?

At a guess its your rocker cover gasket. Simple enough job but dont over tighten it

Not the rocker cover gasket, one of the bolts was loose hence the oil. AA reckons it was no.2 injector but my local garage are saying that it could be either rocker shaft or even head gasket although there was no overheating or loss of oil or coolant.

Could this be the case?

You were lucky. They're not supposed to sell cover if you're already broken down. My neighbour, who used to work for them, got a formal warning for selling membership to a motorist who was broken down. He left them shortly afterwards and went to the RAC.

they do these days, at an inflated price, just ring the breakdown number, tell em your not a member, they take payment, and come and get you...
