hi im new here

i live in northern ireland and am looking to by my first defender for a bit of fun and a bit of a project.

i have been looking at this one but have no idea wether it would be a good buy or not

http://www.usedcarsni.com/83081813

it has no mot but looks fairly neat and im not afraid to have to do some work on it

if anyone can give me guidance it would be much appreciated:)

In my opinion if it sounds too good to be true then it normally is, it's very cheap and if there is only a little work to do to it then why hasn't the seller done it, to up the price? Do you not have someone that can go down and have a look with you. Good luck with your purchase. I hope it's a good one

Why would a garage who looks like they deal in land rovers not mot the car?????
Must have some probs. Plus the price has been reduced so how long has it been for sale???
Go for a look, take a small hammer and scewdriver and go over the chassis and bulkhead, I suspect you will find more than enough rust to keep you busy. Do a search on here for what to look for

it has been for sale for ages ive been looking at it since before xmas when it did still have an mot

im really working on a tight budget for the actuall purahse and the next ccheapest is 2500 and its n a rough state

Go for it mate, it looks like a great project and for £2000 it's a steal. I'm from Bangor and have a Discovery in the drive in worse shape...
