Hi I am new here,
I have a 2000 P38 4.6HSE
About 3 months ago it had two new rear air bags fitted and the system was reset with EAS Unlock and all was well for about 6 weeks. Then it started to get slower and slower to go up and now the EAS pump will not switch on automatically.
  • I have done the short circuit at the relay and the pump works (although it is noisy and has been for a while, currently waiting for the repair kit to arrive from the UK)
  • I have tested the tank pressure switch, that seems ok
  • I have tested the pump overheat circuit, that seems ok
  • I have had the EAS Unlock reset software connected and used that to switch on the pump and that works ok
  • I have used the soap test and the car has no leaks!
I have run out of options!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Can you switch the pump on via software? I had similar problems with mine on very isolated occassions and couldn't even get pump on with software. Eventually I found the contacts between the pump and loom were a bit dodgy, a good clean with a glassfibre contact pen, and ensuring the contacts were tight appears to have fixed it.

The pump comes on through the EAS Unlock software or if I short the relay, so it does work if bypassed, it just won't come on by itself.

did you manage to resolve this fault i am having same problem with my P38 will come on via software and bypass but not independantly, my range rover is currently on bump stops - I ran the EAS unlock software and i got the fault RR LR valve stuck closed, i unlocked eas and then the only fault i am now getting is Vehicle has moved yet getting nothing from the pump :(

check the number on the ecu as there was an updated ecu brought out for them, have just fitted 2 down here to p38's giving the same problems and now all sorted.
