Hi all my 1999 td5 seems to have let me down. Its got really wet ( due to my leaky sunroofs i think) when i put the key in the ignition the alarm goes off and wont stop. Weve tried drying most if the computers out apart from the one on the passenger side. Has any one got any other ideas? The alarm wont stop and the motor wont start. Any way to bypass the alarm/ imobilisor? Xx

the fob isnt in great condition to be honest i resorted to locking it just with the key rather than using the buttons? EKA is that the emergency key code ? if so yes we tred that with the key in the door and no luck :-(

yes i'm sure it did. The AA man tried too and iv had it in a garrage too and he couldnt do anything with it either. My good ole dads trying a few last resorts before i give up and call it a day on it :-(

It does sound like you have a got a lot of moisture in the system somewhere. If you can get it so it is not immobilised , then someone with a nanocom ( other diagnostics can do it as well) can turn off the alarm and immobiliser. But you need to be able to have it communicate with the BCU and it cannot do it if the car is immobilised.

The BCU , on the passenger side can get damp and then start to cause issues. Connectors start to fail.

Could be worthwhile taking it out and cleaning all the connectors and seeing if you can see any corrosion.
Edit** added below.

Aslo did you remove the fuse box and the IDM? also worth checking for corrosion.

Cheers
