Hello, everyone.

I have a 1989 110 CSW, with a ibleive a standard roof, side roof windows and sunroof. No matter what I try water is getting in some how. After so much rain I decided to find a new roof, without the windows or sun roof.

I got lucky last night and purchased one via ebay from a chap in stourbridge. I am drivign from swindon in wiltshire on saturday to collect it. It was listed obviously second hand and that it has holes in it from where beacons had once been fitted. I am going by the thought that those hole arnt so big so should be easier to seal back up than the sides or sunroof I am now battling.

All this said I now need some help. I did a search here and it worked as I found a very short thread talking about swapping the roof over.

I do however need some help as I cant do it alone.
Id be more than happpy to travel, or supply, food and drink if any one would be willing to give me a hand swapping these over.

My daughters and I would be very gratefull (woud be nice to take them to school without getting wet).

so if any one is willing to help please give me a shout.

Thank you all in advance.

Where abouts in swindon ?

The closer to Ciren the better, wouldnt be this week though, or next I'd be able to help out, you'd be looking at the 16th of Feb before I have anytime free,

Hopefull others should be able to you before then though

Hi Jonnyb1990

I am at the blunsdon end right next to the 419 so any closer to you would be out of swindon. Thanks for the very quick and kind offer. If I cant get it swapped before then, lets do it. Would give me a little extra time to fix holes, insulate it before it goes on maybe.

Thanks again.

im not in the village itself, im on the main road into twon (wish i could live in blunsdon its nice).

If you drive into swindon from that end, you get to a larg pub on the right called the moonies, Im near their.

Fair warning though,

I wouldn't know where to start in removing a roof,

But I know it would take more than 2 people to get it done over a weekend well,

I'd get a few people ready before you attempt this !

Hi, everything I have read and everyone here has said it's easy, I'm not confident, but I have to give it a go.

When I get the old one off, I'm guessing iv got to clean both the surfaces before joining them together (new roof and top of screen etc) what if anything did you all use?

What did you use to seal the new joints? And where did you get it from?

The front of the roof where it meets the top of windscreen should have a rubber seal along it already fitted. Around the edges of the side should have a firm foam/rubber seal which tightens down onto the tub. Honestly its so simple its ridiculous, it all unbolts in no time and simply lifts off. Might need a bit of wiggling just due to the seals sticking to the metal but you'll see how easy it is
