I am looking to have a table fitted to the side of my 110 hard top and am looking to do this myself. I am looking for a fixing the will attach to the side of the landrover and will not protrude more than about 5-6mm this will then have a 'male' coupling on the table to lock in.

I know this type of fixing exists but can not seem to find one! The female plate is keyhole in shape will the other section has a small lug which will lock into this.

any help on naming locating or other suggestions would be great.

I should say that the table will then be removed and stored in the rear of the van. the fixing on the van need to be almost flush so as not to be dangrous or cause problems off road.

below is a link to the sort of thing I am looking at making the table in the picture has a blue bowl (the table is not easily seen)

That table is made in south africa and sold by front runner.

you can make a similar set-up using caravan parts. they regularly use clips/rails etc to secure tables that are demountable. call into your nearest caravan parts stockist and tell them what you need, they should be able to help.

also worth looking at chandleries as yachts and posh boats use similar set-ups (usually in stainless steel not plastic).

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

how about pin hinges. just like a normal hinge except comes in two parts and you use a pin to join them together when needed. used in the theatre business for speedy scene changes. very strong and will be almost flush with the vehicle side panel. only the round bits that accept the pin will be sticking out.
