Hi Everyone,
Please can you help me? I have a 2002 mark 3 RR and I just got back from a 450 mile trip (33.8mpg!) and the rear wiper arm is hanging down. I guess its a spline problem but I cant get at it. The spoiler on the top of the tailgate has to come off but I cant work out how. I have the three bolts out which are accessable from inside the tailgate but tyhe spoiler then slides a couple of inches backwards and stops. Can anyone tell me how it comes out so I can access the wiper arm please??
Thanks
Edward

I've just looked on the RAVE cd and you are nearly there, it says .....

remove 3 bolts,

disconnect multiplugfrom harness

close tailgate

slide spoiler backwards from clips

release rear brake light (4 screws)

...

from what I can see you are nearly there, just pull the spoiler backwards and undo the plug. I downloaded rave for my PC from a link on here, do a quick search, you have to burn it to a CD but once done it is the best workshop manual you can hope for.

Best of luck.

Hi, Thanks for that info. I did as you suggested and was a bit firmer with it. There are some nylon washers that fit like a keyhole and you pull up once the spoiler is slid back about an inch. I got to the wiper arm - splines worn but not totally gone. The nut had come off. Also it was a good chance to clear out the washer nozzles. What a crazy design!
Mine is a TD6 HSE with a load of Vogue upgrades from the factory. Its my first one and I love it! I am paranoid about the suspension and noises underneath. At the moment there is a kind of compressor noise from the front nearside periodically. Is that suspension?
Also, its noisy front offside - or so I think - when rolling. Its almost like a driveshaft running dry kind of noise. Is that typical??
I had it chipped - remapped - recently as well and its a different car. So much more responsive - drives like a petrol, but I get better MPG. Amazing difference. The best £500 I have spent!
Thanks again, I will try and get the RAVE guide. Its difficult to get workshop info, and there is no Haynes manual. I wonder why.
