Help! Relay and oil pressure issue

1991 200tdi Defender 90

The far left relay at the bottom of the five relays is failing. It’s causing the oil pressure warming light to flick on and off.

What is this relay? I thought the oil pump was mechanical?

Currently about 400miles from home could do with some quick advice!

Actually think it’s the oil pump. Light flicking on at idle when the revs are low plus pressure has tanked to 8-9psi at 2500 revs.

Not willing to risk it. Pulled over, called the AA, now on the back of a truck. On the plus side the money saved on deisel is more than my yearly AA membership.

Good luck, so you have a gauge then for the oil pressure?

Yeh, it was pressuring ok with the revs up but not anymore. Hopefully prevented any real damage to the engine.
