Help Please

Hi, i`ve got a defender with a 200tdi disco engine. Starts 1st time with slight misfire and a little blue smoke but once revved up it ticks over lovely but still with a little blue smoke.It will rev fully ok with a little blue smoke but if i rev it gradually to about 2000rpm the engine misfires and it belows out blue smoke really bad. Has anyone got any ideas please.

your burning oil from somewhere. dont know much more than that, someone else will expand on it soon. maybe turbo related?

Sorted i think, pump timing fraction out and lift pump on its way out. Thanks all anyway.
