help please

hello
can any one help? have a grinding on over run and then again on power take up, sounds like a worn bearing. not sure of exact location gearbox or rear axle.
is this a common problem?

Series landrovers all make a variety of noises, I don't think I've heard two that sound the same. The gearboxes are noisy at the best of times. Which model have you got? You could change the oil in the box and see what state it's in. I tend to not worry too much about noises unless they get noticeably worse or or other syptoms appear that may seem related such as vibration etc.
