ive just finished 1 bottle to a tank.the revs are definatley at 500 it goes up to about 780 when the heaters are on.ive read on here that a dodgy fuel pressure sensor has similar issues with rough idling and bad starting ect but ime not shure.

sorry bout the slow replys been buisy.no there is no warning lights on its just a bloody bad starter unless the glow plugs come on.if not it starts like poo with a big puff of blue smoke and bouncing idle on revs beytween 500 and about 750 800

i believe it is after alot of searching on here.i have only had the car about 3 weeks ime going to c if the oil fill is to much, if it is would this cause blue smoke.it only does it on cold start also i have to turn the ignition on off on off 3 to 4 times before starting oterwise it doesnt start on the first turn it takes 2 attemps thats, when the smoke is at its worst.when its warm its fine.

That's possibly a glow plug issue or air in the fuel!

Think you'll find they do, just that if the lights not on you don't need to wait for them! Not up on the BMW method but of most they come on to control smoke on start up for emissions. Whether the light is on or not. If the light isn't on you just don't need them for cold starting. But they'll most likely be working behind the scenes! So cycling the ignition will put more heat in the cylinder, but it will also purge the fuel system of air:) you need to figure which it is;)

i stand corrected so if they come on anyway it must be something eles then.ime going to start by.checking the fuel pressure sensor for any corrosioin on connections, then do you think the egr may have a role to play.ime thinking that i may need to broaden my horizons and think that its not just 1 thing wrong but many little things.landrover had my car up untill 2006 with all sevice history till then, then a woman had it untill about 6 months ago (no sevece stamps from then on) then i bought it from a garage that recond they seviced it but the never fixed the air intake hose like i asked either so not shure on that 1.its done 89000 miles

well got my mate from ribblesdale landrover to come and have a look, took a look disconected egr valve an now it starts like a little beauty med up.no smoke anymore or rough idling just starts and puuuuuuuuurs.

Worth getting an EGR bypass, cost about £30 takes 30/45 mins to replace the original egr. also run 2-stroke about 250ml per tank. Replaced my EGR about 6 months ago and started using 2-stroke every time filled up. This resolved a lot of problems such as hesitation at low rev acceleration and blue smoke at start up. Runs like a dream now.:)
