help please defender 300tdi problems

Hi people not been on here in a while as defender 90 300tdi has been running fine but as usual she breaks, first problem is i can get to around 30-40mph and then she totally loses power i cannot go into 4 or 5th gear as it feels like the cable is disconnected the power is that bad! I am totally useless with mechanical stuff i am a joiner deal with wood lol,also i am looking for the best place to get an idea for side exit exhaust and just wondering what sorta price it would cost me thanks in advance guys!!!

Looses power..? Engine cuts? Stalls or just won't go any faster? Does it start again afterwards ok?

Sounds a bit like the collapsing hose thing .. check all your air hoses inside, they de-laminate, creating a flap that blocks airflow. Only cure is replacement.

It looses power and if you rev it high it cuts out but starts fine everytime sorry for the late replys was working up north,certainly will paul thanks for that, cheers for the exhaust link aswell mate appreciate it
