Help newbie here

Hi newbie here I have a p reg p38 4.7 v8 and I have an issue with 2000 revs cut long story short I replaced my rocker covet gaskets and had to remove the plenum to access bolt o have replace all stuff back on and now I have erratic revs at 2000 revs but i did notice a bit of gunk in plenum and thought nothing of it as it don' do many miles a year pls help some one I'm from the Midlands

Welcome by the way - sounds like you have an air leak. Check the plenum is seated correct and not nipping a wire or pipe. Hope you get sorted and post back your findings

I think I may have to remove it again to see if I have gone wrong what sealant is used to put back on

It may at least help eliminate that possibility. If your cleaning the gunk from the plenum make sure no small air holes are blocked - I assume the gunk has been caused by a build up of vented engine must from the breather? Check that the pipe ain't blocked also Good luck

Yh the car does very little miles so I think Iginna get it stripped off and cleaned and try from there
