i have a discovery 200 tdi 1993 could someone help me locate the egr valve as the pages in my manual are missing as i look at the engine from the front where should i be looking i think to the right connected to the ex manifold but not sure any help would be much appreciated.

The reason you can't find it is because the Pavee fairies have hidden it with a magic spell. Some people will tell you it's because the EGR valve wasn't fitted to 200tdi's and was only fitted to 300tdi's in order to meet new emission controls. but this is only because they don't believe in fairies and magic and need some sort of logical explaination as to why they can't see the EGR valve.

cheers for the reply so the 2 ball bearings i got told to buy are completly useless for my engine they are supposed to stop the return gases being used hence so may stop black smoke {but you will know more about that}

I think someone's been pulling your leg mate. If you had a 300tdi or a Td5 and you wanted to blank off the EGR you buy a metal blanking plate which fits over the hole in the manifold. I've never heard of anyone using ball bearings. what size are they.??? Black smoke is usually over fuelling. or unburnt fuel been dumped into the exhaust.
