Hiya guys.
As ive just got my first freelander and virtually no nothing about them, was wondering if anyone was working on a TD4 engine etc would like a hand in return for me learning about my freelander.
As i know there are so many people here that have extensive knowledge i may be able to learn how to fully service and do general repairs on my engine.
I live in swanley kent and more than happy to travel 50 miles or so.
Having had 3 series 3s and learnt how to work on them it made me realise that with this particular engine etc of how much more technology there is.
As ive got time on my hands , dont want to give you my life story etc but had to give up work as a former gas boiler engineer in nov due to extensive back surgery involving pins and screws.
Being very honest i simply cannot afford to take a land rover course, even if someone needed to get some parts and couldnt get them im more than happy to pick them up so i can learn about my engine etc.
I of course hope that i havent offended anyone in any way or being rude in asking .
all the best

Hey Gary,

Don't be offended, it's a perfectly normal request! Unfortunately I can't be of much help myself. Have you considered buying a Haynes manual for the Freelander though? These can be quite useful.

Hopefully there will be someone on here who can be of more help. The Freelander is not the most reliable car in the world, but given that you have bought a TD4, you have picked the best engine for the Freelander.

Haynes?

Download the Rave and study it well (its free and better)
study the freelander faults poll, any stickies in the freelander forum and any freelander specific threads in the FAQs section.
Check yu VCU, rear diff mounts, turbo hoses and drop links.
