help help about to set landy on fire ahh

hi anyone had this problem engine starts first click runs perfect but as soon as it gets a bit of warmth in it it gets a diesel rattle (ie after running it for no more than 2 mins) and the warmer it gets the worse the diesel rattle gets just spent all week trying to find out what the problem is timing spot on .just thought when it starts from cold i can rev it and it sounds just like it should no rattle at all for around 2 mins its a 300tdi 1998 but not for long if i dont get it sorted soon it will be a lump if burnt metal

Have you checked valve clearances?

is it edc ,as as well as belt timing theres is dynamic timing in pump or with ecu ,pump timing is normally advanced during cold start then goes back as engine warms up so with conventional pump with throttle cable you might need to get pump checked on control side with edc maybe ecu

whats the oil pressure like and how old is the oil?
