Can any one advise I have a disco 1 1998 . had 1 inch lift heavy duty springs on the rear 2 inch Extra shocks Gas aswell .
The thing is Iam going through a lot of Rubber Prop shaft Couplings they are geniune parts. Thing is whats the problem?

When putting on the coupling are you putting the bolts in the right order. 3 pointing forwards and 3 backwards.

If the bolts are not on correctly it can cause the doughnut to bend and stress it.

Same thing happened to me. I just changed the rear propshaft and diff pinion for 200TDi items - the 200TDi prop has carden joints on both ends, no rubber to rip! Ebay for the prop, and a 4-bolt diff pinion kit from Rimmer Bros did the trick. Don't forget to get a spacer for the diff pinion from Ashcrofts, you can see why it's needed...
