Hi Dudes,

Still trying to get my bumper back on!

Thought I'd fix a dodgy bit of trim while it was off and all I've managed to do is to make it worse!

It's the bit of rubber strip that runs from the rear wheels round to the tailgate.

I just can't get the clips to engage. Is there a trick to getting it on? I did think it might be easier to take the clips off the body, engage them in the rubber strip and remount them, but I can't see how they come off either and I'm worried about breaking them now.

GRRR.

Any ideas?

Hmm, it's tempting, but I'm not quite at that stage yet (although I'm getting there!!).

I just can't see how the stupid poxy things fit into the body. Of course it's on the side with the sub woofer so I'm having to play with them blind.

Can't put the bumper back on until I've worked this out.

From your Photo ..(& I did blow it up really big) they look like the same type of clips that are on the Disco 1 rear trim panels ..... IF they are you are SUPPOSED to "HOOK em under the top bit & "CLICK" the bottom bit "Home"..

If that makes any sense to yer....................

Yi, I thought so - I just can't get them to engage. It's hard enough because of the curve of the rubber to even get one side to engage.

It seems to make more sense to hook the bottom and try to click the top, but I'm not having much luck that way either. Just got my hammer out for one final attempt...

The glue option is looking more and more tempting...

Can I suggest that while you're out at the car with your hammer, why not try heating the clips with hair dryer to allow them to flex a bit more so you can 'push' them into place.

For what it's worth.

Tried that!! Cheers anyway.

Actually, I've just managed to extract them both from the body intact so they're just sitting in a bowl of boiling water at the mo. Hopefully they'll just go straight back in.

Photo to follow if my email ever wakes up. Stupid vodaphone.

Here's a photo of the clip if anyone is interested. They were right buggers to click into place on the trim even without being stuck in the body so I think it's probably impossible without taking the clips off.

For some reason vodafone wouldn't let me email more than one photo to myself yesterday. Grr.
